Tom Miller is a senior analyst at Gavekal Dragonomics, where he edited the China Economic Quarterly from 2008-17. A former journalist, he has reported from a dozen countries in Asia. His most recent book, China’s Asian Dream: Empire Building Along the New Silk Road (2017) has been translated into five languages. His first book, China’s Urban Billion: The Story Behind the Biggest Migration in Human History (2012), was translated into Chinese. In addition to speaking at Gavekal’s seminars in the world’s financial centres, Tom regularly gives talks at think tanks, conferences and universities, and frequently appears in the international media. Tom studied English literature at Oxford, Chinese history and politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, and Chinese language in Beijing. After 14 years living and working in China, he is now based in Oxford, frequently travelling to Asia.
