Lindsay Whitfield

Dr. Lindsay Whitfield is Associate Professor of Global Studies at the Department of Social Sciences and Business, and Leader of the Center of African Economies at Roskilde University, Denmark. She is author and editor of several books on African politics and economies, including Economies after Colonialism: Ghana and the struggle for power (Cambridge University Press, 2018), The Politics of African Industrial Policy: A comparative perspective (Cambridge University Press, 2015), The Politics of Aid: African strategies for dealing with donors (Oxford University Press, 2009), and Turning Points in African Democracy (James Currey, 2009). She is currently joint editor of the journal African Affairs, and is leading the research project ‘African-owned firms building capabilities in global value chains’.
